name dropping Hook as if he ain’t midcard on a show drawing like 400K people every week :mjlol:

None of those people are over, they don’t move business and nobody outside the AEW bubble knows them

Fans love them and they move merch among the people who watch the show. Every show has a bubble that only because nothing on tv draws 40 million people. Case in point, this promotion that you crack on for not hitting a million still winds up consistently as the top show of the night on most weeks where it airs. Among the people who are watching the show their reactions stand out.

WWE can't even break 3 million in a country with a population of 330 million. Don't act like WWE has some mass market appeal. Unless it's the NFL, people ain't watching shyt on TV en masse anymore.

Ask someone on the street who never watches WWE and they wouldn't be able to tell you who 99% of the people on their roster is. They'd be more likely to correctly guess Johnny Knoxville than Roman Reigns or Drew McIntyre.

If there's one thing Tony needs to understand is that themes don't mean titles for your shows. He needs to realize that themes also mean the show builds towards something. The entire night should've led to the Punk/Moxley confrontation, instead it opens the show and continues in a weird spot. The ratings would stay more consistent if the audience feels like they have to follow every segment for the final setup.
I disagree, I think the Punk/Mox stuff was well done and it was cool how it "interrupted the scheduled show" for that final brawl.

I think the mistake was not hyping up Kenny's return. Him being a "surprise" everyone knows about is cool and all but you gotta hype up the main event and show why these trios titles are worth a damn to these wrestlers and why the main event is worth watching. At the end of they day the fans tuned in to see if Kenny was back and tuned out as soon as they saw him and the show went to commercial, that ain't a good sign.

I don't like doing surprise returns when it's your biggest name talents returning. Market and hype up that shyt. It should be treated as a big fukking deal. Leading up to when it happens. I mean if you want to make it a surprise as to specifically which date it will happen then fine, but the hype should be there to entice people to watch.

Your comparing three things at one time....
MTV for better or worse and the corporation that owns them are not in the sports entertainment/wrestling business (yes I'm familiar with their off shoot wrestling show* not promotion/company) and theur target audience varies from entertainment - fukkery

Not you so don't take it personal, but people got to stop this no one watches Television anymore when some of the best critically acclaimed shows are still being put on television, as well as sports because like oil, television is here to stay...for now

Apart from watching critically acclaimed shows and sports of the past era, the reason "wrestling" ratings drop, was because of the "pipebomb" aka the Indy darling/smart mark era...which were still in, for better or worse (worse in my opinion) WWE catering to Punk every wish and demand, him mention a bunch of guys the average casual fan didn't know about, leading "fans" wanting longer matches, spot, spot spot, what we want (I like private party theme, yes I know they say shots) and technical stuff, which is important but at the end of the day...you gotta look the part, have charisma, psychology in the ring, be able to tell a story l... which led to your Danielson getting a push, Ceserao, Rollins, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, a great but more or less outdated developmental of ovw with the new and improved NXT (and NXT 2.0)

A lot of wrestler's aren't great faces and heels it's either one or the other, but now, every hot shot Indy guy cuts the same loud, cussing, you people/fans, behind the curtain, promo's...don't look like professional wrestlers never mind a sports entertainer, physique

And sure Garcia, Moriarty, Wheeler, can go(do super duper technical wrestling moves) but guys like your Hogan, Rock, Austin, guys who sold merch, was over, drew millions, their wrestling was no Brisco, or Windham, Or Angle, but when you're already number 1, you can get away with having moves of doom...

Now every Indy guy who gets on TV all scream in the mic, wrestle 20-30 minutes matches, no gimmick no personality, look like jobbers, do a 1000 Canadian destroyer and 1000 dives over the top rope and never drew a dime

Ya dont get tired of the wwe/aew shyt goddamn :why:

I just wanted to read fukkery about the Punk shyt and its the same shyt everywhere.

Can you weirdos just make a thread where you can get your 'tism on arguing over playfighting.
It's fukking NUTS. TSC use to be the one wrestling forum that was fun and felt uniquely different from the usual serious smart ass nerd, basement dwelling racists wrestling forums on the net. It felt like a legit escape from that mess. The creation of AEW has stripped that away. This forum is just like all the rest now. And it's a real shame too.

Struggle to do 4K attendance? Your lies less believable than Adam Cole as a badass heel wrestler. Do better.

Yeah Wardlow, Eddie Kingston, Hook, MJF, Brit Baker were all wwe signees
🙄

People are getting retarded about this issue and I hope they're just trolling :pachaha:

The company is 3 years old and people are being built in front of you, so of course the actual established stars are gonna be from elsewhere while the other people are making a name.

Personally speaking neither company should worry about who does or doesnt appeal to casuals or the masses. shyt's fragmented,we got more fandom from 100s of cable shows, dozens of streamers tik tok/twitch/youtube followers...not everyone watching the same thing compared to even 20 years ago. For every situation where AEW wrestlers get clowned by NBA twitter, theres also WWE people getting clowned for showing up at Rolling Loud. Money's good on each side just keep it moving dont worry about what peopke who'll never watch wrestlting think and hoping to be cool.

And yeah the forum and wrestling twitter and media in general has gotten stupid since AEW started, but aint just cause of the AEW neckbeards any more, its also E drones talking like republicans on social media with every obtuse thing. As already exemplfied

Ratings across the board are down for everything outside of live sports. Say what you want about the quality of the programming but nothing outside of sports draws anywhere close to like stuff did during the 90s.

The hilarious part about all of it is that they are essentially doing the exact same thing as the "neckbeards" they love to complain about :mjlol:
