I previously read that WWE is locked in a contract with Mattel until 2015 for the current belt. Also the spinner belt is one of their highest selling merch ever (even over previous belts) so while changing it makes perfect sense because it's been like six years, if it makes crazy money for WWE then Besides the big gold belt this is my favorite WWF belt:

I hear you but, I dont think it was the design of the belt that sells it. I think the selling point to that belt is mostly due to cena having it, and being the next big face of the company for so long and it was trendy at one point. but if they just come with something a little more updated that is also trendy. It may not be instantly but a new belt will eventually sell just as much..
