How the fukk are you gonna compare a MMA fighter to Punk?

People know MMA is real, people know that these fighters could beat someone twice their size in real life.

On the other hand, they need to make pro-wrestling appear more realistic.

Punk aint someone who can use their speed or aerial moves to beat someone bigger (ala HBK) and he cant beat someone bigger due to the fact that he is a great submission wrestler because he aint, unlike Bret and Benoit

Punk uses the same style and the same weak ass moveset to beat a person twice his size, which make it obvious its bullsh1t.

This is what Vince Russo doesnt like about pro-wrestling today. Its not believable. They think that their audience is stupid.

And stop acting like Punk is a successful draw as a champion because he aint.

I'm not even sure I want to respond to something that so blatantly missed the point of my post, or insinuated that Vince Russo of all people made believable wrestling. I will just say this:

1. I hope you don't like cruiserweights if you're so bent on size in wrestling.

2. The conceptual difference between Punk and prime HBK's movesets are negligible (and don't get me started on the believability of HBK's moveset post-'03. But we usually look past these things because of this thing called suspension of disbelief, if you've ever heard of it).

3. Nowhere did I talk about Punk's ability as a draw. Just the Kliq's, which you said nothing about.

I dont have time to watch this sh1t

Then shut the fukk up. Even arch-Kliq lover Henzo watched it, for fukk's sake. Arch-Punk hater TGO isn't in the thread. Please follow one of those two examples.

Your the one who is not understanding. My issue is with smaller guys beating bigger guys without using a good strategy. I have no problem with two cruiserweights fighting each other. Sh1t entertains me :leostare:

Michael's moveset prior to his back injury in 1998 made his wins against bigger opponents more believable. Moves like the moonsault, top rope elbow, flying forearm smash and sweet chin music were all fast paced and made it difficult for his opponents to deal with. I bought it :yeshrug:

And even post 2003, I could still buy Michaels beating bigger guys even though he had lost most of his speed because by then he had already built a reputation of being a giant killer. For example, this guy beat Yokozuna and Kevin fukin Nash, Im sure he can beat Dave Batista. It was believable and made sense.

Let's see, leg kicks, diving elbow drop (a shyt one, but whatever), leg lariat, springboard diving clothesline, diving crossbody, diving suicida, step up knee-bulldog combo, roundhouse kick and the Anaconda Vice. That's a pretty believable moveset versus a big man. Like I said, there's not a lot of conceptual difference between prime Michaels and CM Punk's moveset.

And the bolded point contradicts your own point about believability because scrawny, 190 pound, 40+ year old Shawn isn't the same person as prime HBK and sure as hell doesn't have the same fast-paced moveset. You HAVE to suspend your disbelief a bit to believe that he has a chance.

Try harder.

He said that Raven was really the first person to teach him the hows and whys of promos, angles and the in-ring element, instead of just going out and doing shyt. You could tell he considered him one of the big influences in his career along with Paul Heyman.

:jawalrus: Raven is very underrated, should be working for the E now. He could probably have helped Punk more relevant last summer after he bombed huge.

I just watch the documentary... best thing I've seen in quite sometime. Now when I see Paul Heyman and Punk swag it up on Raw together I know now that they had each other's backs since the beginning... which will make me shake my head now when WWE tries to spin Paul as the devil bringing Punk down everyweek on commentary or by Cena and Foley.

You don't think Raven could have helped Punk last summer?

I was talking less about that and more about the insinuation that Punk was mainly at fault for his fukked up push, rather than him coming back too early, Hunter and Nash destroying his heat by getting involved in something they really didn't need to be involved in, and jobbing clean three straight times on PPV.

Raven could help a lot of people, but :manny:

I think he is mainly at fault, he wanted to be "the guy" and he should have had more input and not agreed to such dumb shyt they put in front of him. If he knew the business in anyway, he would not have done any of that.

But I don't want to argue/shyt on the thread, so continue on man, this is my last post.

Hope the DVD achieved your expectations of what you wanted it to be and didn't leave anything out.

Just finished watching this and its one of the best DVDs the E has brought out in a while. Whether you love Punk or hate Punk you gotta respect his story. It's just a lot of ironic things going on throughout the whole thing. It's crazy how he was mad that he wasn't the focal point of the show during his initial WHC run and how even when he got the WWE strap it almost took him a year to get back in there. The irony of him wanting to have Miz's spot at WM27. He got it at WM28 in terms of walking in and leaving as WWE champ yet still being overshadowed by Rock and Cena. He really has an old school appreciation for the business on the real and any wrestling fan should respect that.........

In other business......Chaleen can get it!
