@Lafraud James

Thanks for the YT link.

...........

I enjoyed the documentary very much. There were some things that I didn't know, like that his sisters aren't his biological sisters, and the Joey Mercury story-very touching. Punk's condescending attitude (at times) isn't my cup of tea, but I can respect the fact that he is very loyal to his friends, and has truly worked hard to get to where he is at. :obama:
Word, the part when Mercury said Punk wrote him a 6 figure check to pay for his house that he was about to lose i was like :whoo:

And it's cool how his "sisters" and the people he's close to all have the same tattoo.

Solid documentary. I find it interesting when they talk about what happened with his first WHC push. You have Hayes and Haitch talking in generalities as if they had no clue what happened. Would be nice, for once, to get someone from creative to at least describe what the thought process was at the time when they were booking him. They literally just skimmed over it and continued on with him having to overcome that setback, without explaining why.

Can't have anything to do with the fourth wall cause these DVDs in general break that from the get-go.

Well that would be self-incriminating, wouldn't it?

Yup, but that's fine with me. They need to own up at some point.

Own up to what? Punk is not a great babyface, especially when you got Michaels in his post-prime prime on the same show

Not talking solely about Punk. Just in general where they've made booking calls that seem sudden. Especially ones that are called out in documentaries like this. What the reasons were, what future they saw for that particular wrestle. That's all I meant.

Seems like alot of things just happen by fluke after a botched storyline/bookings these days.

Punk's a more natural heel but he could have easily been a great anti-hero face in the Attitude era. Smiling, jokey PG era? No one's a great babyface today because no one wants to see that corny shyt besides young children.

I wouldn't have put the title on Punk in the first place that summer. I would have had Michaels beat Edge for the title, then Jericho beat Michaels, and Punk cash in on Jericho

But at the same time, that's all in hindsight. Punk just wasn't clicking with the fans as a babyface at the time

:childplease:

Punk was pretty over for a guy who didn't really do much in the upper midcard, and by the time he lost the belt in September, he was getting some really good face pops.

Punk is great, but he wasn't getting over on the Shawn and Chris saga. They booked him to cash in too quickly. They should have made the #1 storyline about the title from the get-go. HBK was too strong a babyface at the time

My review of the DVD

1. CM Punk getting bullied and being the odd white backyard wrestler is so funny because you know the hood nikkas clowned that nikka all throughout High School

2. I still think he had some of his best matches in the Indys and that talent of wrestlers (Cabana, Joe, Hero, Aries, etc) bring the best out of him. He needs those guys in WWE bad

3. Homie looked like Matt Hardy and shyt in "2006 OVW" that mascara shyt was so gay and homo. I was watching it like "yo i wouldnt push this fakkit either, keep him in OVW or remove that mascara"
:what:

3. WWE didnt talk about how they just handed this fakkit money in the banks and 2 random title reigns. Thats why if it werent for TSC, i wouldn't take WWE seriously. I hate how nikkas are 10x world champions before their 40 years old, hell even 35 years old. shyts disgusting because they just throw titles on guys just to force popularity on them when they not ready. Its clear Money in the Bank 2011 should have been CM Punk's true first WWE title reign like the old days. I wont speak much on that because everything has already been said about that classic night.

4. I really like how CM Punk is really cool with Kofi Kingston. Although its been proven Punk is KKK, i like how he seems to keep Kofi's morale up because I do believe once the HHH's, Taker's, and HBK's are officially retired, new guys will come up and Kofi could atleast reach "The Rock 1997" status where he could be a young black excellence character along with David Otunga. CM Punk can teach him the way.

5. I think Miz is more family friendly, tv marketable than Miz. CM Punk bashing Miz was pretty wrong. I remember clearly that Miz was one of the most entertaining guys on the mic and heavily improved his ring ability around the time he had a fued with Cena. Plus, its not like Miz had anything special at Wrestlemania 27, he was pretty much a pawn

6. This was a nice little DVD but im not falling for the sad, sappy music to hook you into CM Punk's career emotionally. Dude was always solid in the ring but back around 2006-2008, he was a nobody compared to JBL, Cena, HBK, HHH, Lashley, Umaga, Undertaker, Mr. Kennedy, MVP, etc. These guys were just more marketable. I mean, Punk himself admitted he wears the same t-shirt and jeans everyday. I wouldnt want that dude as my company man. And to think Punk was insulted that he had to lose the belt to Jericho so he could fued with HBK in 2008 was crazy, People say that is one of the GOAT storylines of all time

7. I still think Punk just had one classic promo and one classic match which lifted the hopes of a new Attitude Era and although HHH & Nash killed his momentum, dude seriously is riding Heyman's natural heel charisma to the top right now. Take away Heyman, Punk is flat lined again

P.S. I dont even respect his crying about how he was held down. Dawg, Im sure EVERYONE has a similar story so whats so special about him? You dont think Daniel Bryan doesnt have a story about being released for choking Justin Roberts and being Miz's protege on NXT? you dont think Tyson Kidd who has been a top canadian talent for years out of the Hart Dungeon doesnt have a story to tell?
