speaking of clive.........

i remember being told a story a long time ago by a dude who did mixing work on outkasts albums.......i use to work in a porn video rental shop in atlanta, he use to come in and we use to chop it up a bit....but after about a year he started feeling more comfy telling me these stories and showing me pictures because he knew i wouldn't put these peeps on blast.....anyways here is the story





This is around the time when Prince was big......and there was this kid that prince would always run into. Anways the kid would always be like
"hey prince, i can sing man, give me a chance, just give me a chance" and every time prince would be like

"nah kid, trust me you don't want to be in this business"

this went on for about a year. After a while, Prince just got tired of the kid pestering him so Prince asked the kid to sing. the kid was actually good, but still prince was like "Nah kid, you DON'T want to be in this business.:

So a few months go buy and the kid again runs into Prince and begs and pleads that prince give him a chance. So finally prince gives in tells the kid to be ready to sing for someone this wknd.


Prince took the kid to see Clive Davis. when its their turn to see clive they go into his office and clive is sitting behind a big desk.

Prince - "Clive, i got this kid here, and he can sing, i want you to hear him"

Clive agrees to hear the kid.

Anyways the kid starts singing, and clive is blown away. He wants the kid to sing more. After the kid is done singing Clive starts telling him about the lifestyle of always being in the studio

while this is going on, Prince has to use the bathroom. So he excuses himself..

However...when prince gets back, the kid is nowhere to be found.

But he sees clive leaned back in his chair like




Prince lets out a long sigh.........

While were talking about them let's not forget all the shyt on death row records.

The only thing I heard about was Dre who Tupac and later Jewel said was gay. There were a few other rappers who said it from the Death Row camp as well but I don't remember their names. The other thing was allegations of men being raped at death row as a way of inflicting pain and punishment.

Welp. Whitney was in good company.

CD was very protective of WH's interests. He made sure that SHE KNEW he prioritized her as #1 cash cow. Gave her right of first refusal on MANY songs coveted by his other artists...or so Clive said when he lectured us nosey students a few years back. Whitney was still alive then and would crash at his hotel bungalow whenever to hear new song demos (and to refuse Clive's pressure to go to rehab).
