Yeah I've seen him. We all know that tough quick players are able to bully him but over the course of a season, he does a LOT better than all of those guys that are known to take his lunch money at times.
He's one of the best passing big men in the game and he is one of the best shooters for his size as well. He can get burned or outmuscled by some of the lesser skilled PF's out there but no one really has the complete package. He has been limited by the fact that the roles they have used him in during the last two years don't really accentuate his strengths.
Curry didn't exactly eat his lunch either. He bullied him with size on a few possessions but he was waived in favor of Troy Murphy two days later. If he was truly a Gasol killer, they would have kept him around.
He's always had trouble with Chandler, dude averaged like 9ppg against the Bobcats in the playoffs a few years back. They had Theo Ratliff, Nazr Mohammed and Tyson @ that nikkas neck.
Lakers need to sign Delonte West and throw Blake in the bushes.

Kobe will get all defensive awards until he retires and I wouldn't be surprised if he still gets them for the first year or two after he retires either. The coaches clearly don't pay any attention when they make those votes. He's a subpar defender at this point. He is capable of spurts of playing AVERAGE defense but that is limited to a couple possessions a game. The fact that they have two non defense playing backcourt players is one of the reasons the team struggles so much. Neither Kobe nor Nash can stop dribble penetration.
On offense, it doesn't really matter how many moves Kobe has. Durant is taller and can shoot right over the top of people and score much easily and more efficiently than Kobe can. Nobody in their right mind would take Kobe over Durant right now.
