Nah, he did it for good cause. He overheard they was trying get his bunk mate out so he acted a fool and took the wrap for him.
i always believed he didn't steal money from Ray but that other guy swooped in and became his right hand man and put that in Rays head. Ray, being kind of a jackass himself lol and fukking over people, and also being weary of people doing him wrong because he was blind, believed him.
