Recently read something that argued that cops are currently killing more unarmed black men than the amount of black men and women were killed by lynchings. But there is also no sort of "stats" to track how many the kkK actually killed..
You do know many cops were present at lynchings, too, right? Cops were protecting the KKK. The police is pretty much the kkK, they just aren't Publiially outspoken about their views like the KKK is/was. The pre cursor to police were slave patrols.

The police & KKK to me, aren't much different in this country historically. There connection is hundreds of year deep. police & oppression go hand and hand. Always has, always will. The entire idea of policing was borrowed from British monarchs and the Vatican who wanted to protected their assets from the poor. The idea of policing is to protect the "superior" from the "inferior". So of course, in a country with such deep racial history and still so many racists, and majority of cops are white.. This is what will happen.
That's how racial and social hierarchies And those who view themselves and those who look like them as "superior" protects themselves/itself from the "inferior"..Through the system. Because the system is hierarchal. Just like current race relations.
Racism is hierarchical and could not operate and thrive without social hierarchies and the hierarchal structure of this system that is built upon the oppression of others, thus it will always try and protect itself systematically because that's the nature of hierarchies. That's the nature of the system.
This is why they killed MLK once he started going at capitalism. He knew this.
