I agree it would be nice if someone turned player evaluation into more of a science in football(just look at my avi). But this article doesn't have any solutions to the problem. Also, is he the only guy trying to do this in the nfl? To me with all the success in other sports with analytics and "moneyball" you think most gm's haven't been looking for a better way?

It's out there. For pass rushers for instance...there are certain athletic benchmarks the best ones generally hit at the combine that translates to pro success. Also the Lewin scale for QB's (at least 3 years worth of starts, 60+ completion %)

This article has nothing to do with the Browns. This is old around the time he went to the Dodgers.
