How is this the peak when we won a title in 1990.

Paul has a 10 or 11 win season then the next year we don’t make a Bowl game. Chan Gailey was a consistent 7-9 win coach
Lol that was damn near 30 years ago and college football has changed dynamically. Nothing about that NC can be used to discuss the current state of the program.

I’m not even victory lapping here. Let’s be reality.

I'm talking about consistently. You had a few years into the late 90s with George O Leary & Joe Hamilton that were on par with what you're doing now. I think you've got unrealistic expectations of what Tech can be in football...at some point you gotta have boosters willing to support that vision. Tech has NEVER supported football at that level, has lackluster facilities and an unmotivated fan base. You saw the game, it's 65% UGA fans in YOUR building in a rivalry game. It ain't about the offense, its your program

Holyfield went to Woodward which is probably 12-16 miles from Tech.

BUT NO BIG TIME PLAYERS WANTS TO PLAY IN THIS OFFENSE.

Look at Miami..they kept all the talent in the city. Imagine if Tech put a curtain around Atlanta and became the official team of the city. Tech leaders have no vision :snoop:

See my post above.
Miami is a private school with tough academics as well but they lowered it to keep those players home.

Breh you must be new to College Football because you talking non-sense right now.

nikka I been watching football forever.
How is it nonsense to want Tech to lower standards to get big time athletes if they want to compete with UGA every year?

You had Demarius Thomas, Jonathan Dwyer, Stephen Hill as recent skill players who made it to the league in this offense. Like I said, you think it's as easy as dropping standards and changing the offense and you keeping all the 5 stars home. You've got mediocre facilities, an unmotivated fan base and boosters who don't give a fukk. Dropping standards & changing the offense don't change those facts

Watching football and understanding the landscape of that program is two different things.

It’s nonsense because they aren’t going to do it and do you really think you are the first person to suggest this?

Tech is happy with an occasional 10 Win season.

boosters just need to buy out windy hill athletic club and let them boys eat. i’ve never even seen techs facilities, sounds like them boys in the rec center.

TYRONE GA!
Apparently if we fire CPJ, we'd only owe him a million per season through 2020. So 3 milli. If we fire him after next year that makes it 2 million :patrice:

Barring a coastal title or competent season next year.....

Esp with a new AD :patrice:

You and I both know CPJ ain't goin anywhere. Be realistic, this is as good as it's gonna get and if you get rid of CPJ it'll take at least 2-3 years to get this roster to compete because of who CPJ has recruited

Those were Chan Gailey’s players and he ran a pro style offense. Those players just so happened to be great athletes and they transitioned well to Paul Johnson’s system.

:mindblown:

Bro what the fukk is your argument here?
Tech fans want more than a fluke ten win season. If you were a Tech fan and knew tech fans you would know that. I’m saying the same shyt that has been said for the past ten years.

Boosters need to make their voices heard

Tech had an inside practice facility before UGA did. The stadium only holds 55k instead of 90k like UGA, but that’s on par with the rest of the ACC minus Clemson and FSU. They have decent facilities but nothing on the level of Texas, Bama, Auburn, Clemson or other blue blood programs.

Agreed. We've made a new year's bowl 6 game twice in the last ten years. Multiple ACC championship game appearances.

They not dropping the academic requirements or creating basket weaving majors either. That's just the way it is...

So even if we change coaches I'm not sure if that will be the end all be all.
