Really? I figured that Jeru was getting better rap-wise but Premo's beats fell off a little on Wrath of the Math.
:yeshrug:

I mean just going off rap talent and I also believe that The Sun Rises > any Gang Starr album, I think a Jeru-Premo duo would have been better.

Or d'you think Jeru's supposed fall-off meant he was rapping worse than Guru?

You thought Jeru's off beat flow over worse Preemo beats was an improvement on Wrath of the math?

That album kinda sucked off rip. I preferred 'Soul On Ice' which was shytted on strangely in the community. Same time. I know because i was hit by a car and had those 2 CD's on me.

Yeah his flow is mad unique I love it. It's been like that from the start though, it's not like WOTM was the first album that did it. I think conceptually Jeru improved, his rapping was at least on par with his debut. Just the songs overall were worse and mainly in terms of beats and cohesiveness. Plus Jeru has more of a zip in his energy and delivery. I know Guru is purposefully monotone but it can get boring for me quite quick, that's unless Premo's beats are carrying the track.

Soul on Ice is ignored because of production. But lyrically it's one of the greatest albums ever no question.

Neaux Neaux Neaux. His entire rapping presence vanished on the second joint. It really did, b.

I'm gonna listen to it again today and see what's up. Heard The Sun Rises again recently so that's fresh in my mind.

The Sun Rises in the East: 25/29 - 86%
Critical Beatdown: 22/25 - 88%

sorry y'all no new thread today. Had an essay to write and submit and now I'm super tired, so I'll come back tomorrow with the next one.

Leave some suggestions in this thread and I'll get to it

Bumped Heroz4Hire for the first time in probably 15 years. it's dope, and the production is mad nice

Surprised purist hipsters haven't latched onto this album yet...guess they're still stuck on Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous
