I would bet almost anything that there is not one coach in the league that would have gone for two points there. If you miss the game is over, period. It was pretty much no chance that you can win. It is a two-possession game at that point.

If you go for one there, then it's still a one-possession game. If you end up scoring a touchdown again, you can still tie it with a two-point conversion.
