LOL as if it was somehow not gonna pass the House.

BBC News - Cispa bill on cyber security passed by the US House

passed through the house, what a sad coincidence that a tragedy like the boston bombing completley overshadows fair media coverage of this. :stopitslime:

Cispa = " government can monitor your online activities" :yeshrug:

sopa = "stop online piracy" GET YOUR FUKING PITCHFORKS GUYS>.THEY CANT TAKE OUR FREEDOMS ..LETS FIGHT THESE TYRANTS

won't pass the senate, and even if it did it would be veto'd. This is a case of the administration's corporate ties benefiting us. Silicon Valley bankrolled Obama's two campaigns, he's not going to sign this bill.

what ever information that is exchanged with a particular website in turn for their services or for access, and to the degree which this information lifts the veil of anonymity that the internet allows.

Who says the internet should allow you to hide behind a "veil of anonymity?" If you want to increase anonymity, employ a number of cryptography tools, private browsers, proxies, VPNs, and secure operating systems. Otherwise, lose your expectation of privacy.

I'm still not sure what you're actually opposing here? Do you actually believe that your existence on the internet is truly anonymous?

The post you quoted is me giving my definition of private information :what:, what I am opposing is CISPA and the power it gives the government to access information that is held by these silicon valley multinationals on the basis of semantical tomfoolery such as "cyber threats", "cyber security risk" and my favorite "cyber terrorism".

I had to bold this part in your post :stopitslime:, it's passive dumbfounded peasants like you who bend over and take anything the government gives you with a smile on your face, very soon you'll be living in a surveillance state where your every move is watched, all because you lost your expectation of privacy :to:

And I have to bold this statement and relate it to your expectation of privacy. When has the internet ever been about anonymity? If you fukk up and break the law (and in some cases, if you don't), governments and corporations can track you based on your internet activities. They have always had the ability to do so. So, if you believe that, outside of strong encryption, your internet activities are somehow private, I'm not sure you understand how all of this works.
:smugbiden:

You live in a surveillance state already. But somehow you deem only corporate entities worthy of possessing your PII?
:what:

I am dumbfounded though. I'm dumbfounded at how certain citizens have an expectation of anonymity and privacy when all of their data passes through a centralized, heavily logged, and highly monitored infrastructure. Go ahead, say something truly reckless or commit a crime on clear-net, see how fast that door gets hit...or how fast them spooks hit your workplace.
