They withdrew support because they didn't get piece of that sale. They got the upfront money. Possibly no residuals as it doesn't stream and possibly not a cut of the selling price. So yeah they feel a way...

Yup. It gets harder and harder to defend RZA the more time passes by. Cilvaringz felt comfortable taking that play to RZA because he knew it wouldn't be a 9+ person split. Instead it was likely a split amongst RZA, Cilvaringz, and whoever else (Power? Divine?).
I don't believe anything he said.
Even if 90% of what he's saying is true I guarantee he didn't explain the album was going to be auctioned off for potentially millions of dollars. His own music was selling like 15 copies, Wu probably didn't ask for much money from him.
So they went to record under the assumption it would be another random Cilvaringz project. But it sells for $2 mill, then I think it recently sold for $4 mill. I'd be hot too.

As far as RZA I don't know how much blame he should hold since (as far as I know) he didn't work directly with Wu on this. It was them just doing random songs (or so they thought) for a Cilvaringz compilation. Then RZA set up the deal.

That recent listening gig thing was partly organised by Divine.
In the end, this was NEVER going to go right. The only way it would've went fine is if it never came out, or came out as a standard album. And that's because it wouldn't have sold ish, and they would be fine with whatever they charged him. Once the one copy auction idea, which was a brilliant idea, came about, everyone was going to be pissed...no matter how you look at it.
And how do you split a compilation? It's definitely not equal. And if they split it equally by everyone on the album, after CilvaRingz gets his 50% and then RZA/Divine/Power take their exec fees, your talking a 20-30 person split. Which, ends up probably being what he paid them for their verses to begin with.

i mean.... whats the difference in this album and what mathematics did a half decade ago with his "wu tang album" which wasnt too bad other than only having a few generals with verses and mostly other affiliates. Chamber muzik did the same thing as well. What make this album any different? its a non rza put together wu album. Until i hear some fire im convinced this was just a clever promo scheme that worked out well financially for cilvaringz/rza.
