The main character that found Chucky reminds me of a skinny sassier version of no teeth kid from Stranger Things. If they can get away with this on regular cable, I'd like to see what the project could get away with on the premium ones.
I'm no sadist per se but I'd like to see Chucky do an autopsy on somebody alive or something similarly demonic. What's the end game here, how many murders can a small town withstand before shyt hits the fan.

Really dope pilot that was. Mancini leading the way gives me faith in the show’s future and I love how he brought over the fun, whacky nature of the movies into this with no problems. Episode felt like a dream at times and the tone was perfect for who we’re dealing with.
The kids in this are so damn cruel lol. Between them and Chucky possibly taking advantage of Jake’s vulnerable self, I’m scared the kid will be led down a very dark path.
Body horror back. Slashers back. Chucky, Michael, and Ghostface eating again. These last couple months have been great for the genre.
Bride of Chucky full embraced the absurd nature of adult getting snuffed out by a Doll. Some franchises are afraid to venture in this tongue-in-cheek, but really ever since this, I think the series has improved.
Plus this shyt always has me dying.

You all know Mancini is gay right? So it’s not weird or “for no reason” that the main character is gay since he’s the guy in charge and probably channeling some old feelings from when he was a kid.

.This show is different than the force pandering that they do in many other shows for the LGBTQ+. They don't make being gay the whole character identity.
That talent show and table dinner scenes was the best parts of the whole episode

i got no problem with the lead being gay but i was confused because his cousin looks very gay..
To me, this has the vibe of 2. And of course, I think 2 is the best of the series. I'm just not how sure they can sustain it for an entire season, or multiple seasons. I do love that they seem to be going more for the OG story, in being ambiguous as to the killer...as least from the show's perspective. Curse was that way too.
It's on purpose. Mancini has explicitly stated that he knows 2 is probably the "best" film in the franchise from every angle (way it was shot, story, drama etc) and that he is actively trying to recapture some of what made that one special. Its a large part of why he decided to make the main characters kids again and why he tried to get Chucky doll to look as close to as it did in 2.
