The highlight of the episode for me is when Chucky was calling the kids. Chucky's voice was disturbing during those scenes and it showed they can go in a more scary direction if they wanted to.

Heres some BTS and interview stuff

The way he annunciated "Ta-muh-ruh" when he was on his Ghostface. It was so proper yet disturbing at the same time.

My thoughts on S2:Ep 1.

1. It blew my mind that in that world, Tiffany Tilly made a "Bride of Chucky" movie in that universe. In which I see with that they are going the Scream route with the "Stab" movies.
2. They really upped the :dame: moments with Jake and Devon.

3. Jake's foster brother was one of the worst characters in the franchise.

4. Lexi's mom can get this bbc.

5. Andy being a badass and making short work out of doll Tiffany.

Overall, 8 out of 10 for me.

EDIT: okay just finished...maybe it isn't coke, and just ADHD meds.

I get Child's Play 3 vibes from this season...instead of military school it's a catholic school

It's amazing how this franchise is going strong 34 years after it's inception and, arguably, at its best with the Chucky series. Chucky has been a part of 5 decades despite only having 1 legitimately "good" movie, "Child's Play." And I like the 3 more than most people as well as Curse and Cult. Look at this consistent decline in quality.

The series really lends itself to success by leaning into the absurdity and having kids be the focus, which is how it should be when dealing with a killer children's doll (children killer doll?) Taking it back to the Child's Play roots but aging the kids up for the modern audience has done the trick. Mancini probably owes a debt to Stranger Things and IT's recent success too. He was smart to ride the wave.
