No nolan movie has ever been 3 hours :Jimmy:

And his replay value is off the charts :smugnolan:
they only feel like it. The Dark Knight Rises felt like it was literally 4 hours. Respectfully disagree on his replay value. it's nonexistent.

I saw the seven minute preview with my IMAX showing of Rogue One and it was incredible. My heart was pounding throughout the whole thing.
I was confused reading all the negative reactions in here to the trailer because I saw the IMAX one too and I, too, thought it was incredible. Then I realized the one posted in here is completely different.

I hadn't paid much attention to this movie before that trailer and now it has my full attention.

Christopher Nolan Tells French Mag 'Dunkirk' Will Have a Triptych Structure

“The film is told from three points of view. The air (planes), the land (on the beach), and the sea (the evacuation by the navy). For the soldiers embarked in the conflict, the events took place on different temporalities. On land, some stayed one week stuck on the beach. On the water, the events lasted a maximum day; and if you were flying to Dunkirk, the British spitfires would carry an hour of fuel. To mingle these different versions of history, one had to mix the temporal strata. Hence the complicated structure; Even if the story, once again, is very simple.”

Nolan about to kill shyt again yall...goddamn I'm even more hyped than I was...

Suicide squad had the best trailers and the movie was awful. marketing is responsible for putting together trailers and they utterly failed with that first Dunkirk trailer. the short teaser trailer was far superior. I put little stock in trailers these days lol

I'm a Nolan stan so my opinion doesn't amount to much here, but I geek'd out when I saw the preview... I know it should pretty much nothing, but that tense and unnerving feeling Nolan was pushing for and how the three narratives were intertwining as if they're all simultaneously happening at the same time and how beautifully shot it was on the IMAX screen. I must admit, I was hype.

That said... I can understand anyone who's not a big Nolan fan or a mere casual wouldn't appreciate it and strictly look at the truth that it was a bunch of nothing happening on screen.
