Fincher left a while back (couple months or so), supposedly because he wanted full control of how the movie was going to be marketed (taglines, trailers, posters, etc.) and Columbia wasn't having it after Fincher spent a couple hundred-thousand dollars on producing metal razor posters for A Girl With The Dragon Tattoo that weren't even allowed in theaters because of the fact that they were giant metal razors.

Maybe there was something odd about the real Steve Jobs. Just something so whack, that the actors could not bring themselves around to portray him as he was. Like jagging off on an iPad or something. Who knows.
