You would have thought as a successful comedian who has to notice the shyt people do to write his sets, something like that wouldn't be an issue for him.

I would argue being able to NOT read the room would make you give a comedian an edge (in some cases)

Talented Comedians are usually pretty damaged people even if CR seemed like one of the more normal ones this is not really surprising. Just always a dark cloud hanging over them. Even before the women stuff I heard Cosby was really moody. Seinfeld is really moody and miserable. Pryor had a death wish and somehow live a lot longer than all those same comedians that died in their 30s. Carrey and robin williams constantly fighting of suicide. Etc etc..
