If any movie can get the genre started it's this.Basically. There's absolutely no reason video game movies can't be the next thing to blow. You have one complete story pre-made, so you don't have to choose a particular arc like you do with comics. You don't have to deal with acquiescing to over bearing comic book nerds who'll complain if a character is too short or his origin story isn't the exact same. The possibility for creating franchises exists due to all the video game sequels out there. All they need is a big enough franchise that can attract a good director, and video game movies could be the next big thing. Maybe Metal Gear Solid could be that franchise.
