If he means it, then good for him, but you're also giving him too much credit if you really praise him for this. He's also trying to separate himself from these old guard types so he can stand out more in 2016 or otherwise. There's strategy to everything this man does. Even his "straight talker" persona is calculated. Just watch his Oprah interview, for example, and it's plain as day.

Eh. You may be true that he's angling, but this is his constituency/state in trouble here. As ambitious as he is I think he cares enough to speak out for them on that basis alone. Nothing intrinsically bad about this.
