Chris Christie Says He 'Could Care Less' About Presidential Election

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) told "Fox & Friends" Tuesday morning that he "could care less" about the presidential campaign in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Christie was asked on the show if Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney would be visiting New Jersey in the wake of the storm.

"I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested," Christie said. "I have got a job to do here in New Jersey that is much bigger than presidential politics. And I could care less about any of that stuff."

After listing the damage around the state, including power outages and devastation along the Jersey Shore, Christie reiterated his indifference now to the presidential race.

"I have a job to do. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics, than you don't know me," Christie said.

Christie has been praising President Barack Obama regularly since Sunday, noting that he's had several phone calls with the president regarding the storm. He said that Obama has been "proactive" and that he appreciated Obama's leadership. He said that Obama has been quick to declare disasters in New Jersey and to provide him with assistance.

Christie has used several television appearances on Tuesday to praise Obama, including the "Fox & Friends" interview.

The moment where that asswipe Steve Doocy asks Christie what Romney could do to help :heh: Christie looked disgusted :scusthov:

This and Mitts FEMA comments have to be the final blow. He is finished. The way Christie disregards his own party's presidental candidate live on fox news a week before the election is just stunning.

We see you Christie. Dude is angling for 2016 hard. Mark Levin was FURIOUS at him today.

He sees the lane for a new moderate Republican who isn't a religious social conservative. I'll give him an honest look in 2016. I liked the way he used the RNC as a personal platform and an early 2016 stump speech. He reminds me of a more gully Charlie Crist.

sorry, screw his political angling. Where's the tunnel?

The ones that he passed on?

He seems unhinged.

He's as large as Taft as well.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't agree with him on a lot of things, and wouldn't vote for him, but I could tolerate ol' dude. He seems sincere and honest from what I've seen of him.

yeah

I'm trying not to use much low invective these days but I'll make an exception to call him a dikkhead over how he bounced such an important transporation project to appease the tea partiers or whatever was going on in his head

Yeah, I seriously doubt I'd vote for dude, but I will say that I do think that it would be progress if we had a Republican President that doesn't pander to jesus freaks and racists. It could shift the electoral map and common left-right political wisdom a bit, which could be a positive trend.

I always thought dude was all right, but I'm not really a fan of the way he came at teacher's unions. Even though I think a lot of times those unions can be a problem.

Wack ass teachers sticking around for like 30 years

That was one of the most offensive things he's done and I've only started following him in the last 6 months. That will damage the tri-state for decades. Second is his attacks on Teachers Unions .

No one from the North East will be ever be President.

Christie is a glimmer of hope for politics
Nah bruh he's a sly politician. Just more of the same.

The issue is much bigger than that and you know it.

Anyone know if there's more background with his spat with the Atlantic City Mayor than meets the eye? Or is Christie just taking this really personally?

In general sure? But I don't really follow jersey politics so I don't know the details about the issue. Remember I was still an undergrad in the Midwest when this guy got elected and if it wasn't that or the stuff going on in Washington, I wasn't engaged in it. I just remember that one battle because it got traction. Besides, we always just shytted on Jersey. :yeshrug:

BTW, tell me more about this transportation project.

Generally

First off I think attacking Unions is class warfare. From the top and the bottom.
If Education weren't underfunded Unions wouldn't be an issue.
If there weren't constant unnecessary changes to curriculum, testing, and certifications among other things Teachers wouldn't be getting burnt out.
Underfunded Pensions(Wall Street) people wouldn't have to retire so old.
Greater Safety net in America people wouldn't being retiring so late.

Some can be applied to most of society.

Oh I think you're misunderstanding me completely. I was saying that there's more to the issue in general, but I don't know much about the teacher's union issue in this instance. We're talking about different things right now.
