actually, may be in the minority, but i could see the orlando magic doing some dumb sh1t like this
if its inevitable that d12 is out the door, you hire shaq to 1. soften the blow to the orlando fanbase and 2 scapegoat him for the inevitable rebuilding process that will have orlando as a lottery team for many seasons to come. as they will struggle, o neal gets the shots thrown at him. but no matter what gm gets in there orlando will have to rebuild, but this moves makes it where shaq takes the blame for them stinking up the place. add to the fact the very public dislike shaq has for d12 and it really makes sense.
