Tocqueville's advice on French revolution captures Chinese leaders' attention

So a guy named Wang Qishan suggested to the Chinese gov't to read The Old Regime and the Revolution. This book provides analysis how France's revolution was starting not because of poverty, corruption, and gov't mistreatment. But because of national prosperity leading to social disparity/inequality. Qishan suggests that China is on the precipice of such an event.

I wonder if America is under a similar situation but on more of an economic revolution than a full out actual war or even great social upheaval. Economic inequality is rising, even conservatives and Republicans (ie. electorate) are noticing that the time-honored policies and rhetoric are not helping. Socialism is on the rise in this country. Well the idea of socialism anyway.

So do you think that China and America could have revolutions around the same time based on social and economic disparities each are facing especially as America is a waning superpower where democracy is (for the moment) buckling and China is a rising superpower where capitalist communism is giving way to more democratic ideas?

Tocqueville analyses the causes of the French revolution by examining social conditions under the "old regime". He wrote that when the revolution erupted, the "old regime" of Louis XVI was at its most prosperous, but that prosperity had fuelled social disparity, leading to the revolution. He offered an explanation as to why prosperity did not prevent a major revolution but, on the contrary, fomented one.

Wealth inequality is what started. Basically, the Chinese are yet again fukkijg geniuses. They'll probably try to cap rich people and try to get the poor closer to Americas.

America never lets the bottom have a big win. We're close to a revolution, just need a collapse. China is too, but they're proactive.

For all the talk about freedom and opposing government tyranny etc, the American people historically have been much more deferential and afraid of disrupting the political/social order no matter how corrupt.
The whole “give me liberty or give me death” only applies to when white folks feel pushed up on my outsiders.

There has been an erosion of personal liberties and various violations of privacy that should have been checked decades ago. Mostly due to profit and lobbying.
