this...the standards to get into wrestling are not as strict as it used to be...shyt used to be barbaric..now not as much
Yup, the industry used to have a way of stomping the empathy and humanity out of you. If anything it's guys like this Chinese play fighter's and other legends fault for not keeping that tradition alive:ohhh:

I don't think it's so much that they were fans first as it is the death of the territories. You had plenty of legends that were marks, HBK and HHH were marks. With the hardships of the territories it's almost like these new guys don't get that cold dose of reality that if you don't have that killer instinct to get ahead you'll be stuck driving territory to territory 300+ days a year making nickles and dimes.

Those “marks” looked like this

:francis:Signs of the times dude. In the early 90s, it was all about the body and not so much the moveset. Hence why there were like 20 Ultimate Warrior body gimmicks that spread throughout the industry at the time. Nowadays, it's not about the bod, but so much the indie style (kick boots, baggy attire, and a goofball average joe persona). Trust, if Trips came up during the thriving 2000s indide scene, dude would be looking like a CZW failure in a instant :camby:

We’ve come along way from the glory days of play fighting when these were the type of play fighters the business attracted

They do it for the chants, when they lose there's always tomorrow. What are you talking about? That's how I see it."

This is the problem too.. It seems like both wrestlers are going at it to gain props instead of aiming for the title or to kill their opponent. This is where that whole "Lets steal the show" corny shyt come from

It’s what I’ve been saying, play fighting is now about the performance of the fake fight, nothing to do with the story, outcome, characters....
