What would really help out is if Yao Ming made a statement that could ease both sides of the equation. But maybe he's shook of the Chinese government too:ehh: I think its a wrap for Morey. He's been poppin off at the mouth for some time now.

Yao already took the Chinese gov't's side by suspending cooperation with the Rockets as Chairman of the Chinese league.

And Morey supporting James Harden is hardly "popping off at the mouth", Comic Sans was popping off at the mouth.

He really be feelin' himself tho. Ya'll put the battery in his back
Morey is literally the reason we are successful.

If he's gone the rockets are done as a franchise

Its not like ya'll have had a Warriors type run. I don't want to see him lose his job but he's definitely replaceable.

the chinese are smart. they're not going to demand a scalp. they're just sending the message that they can. this message has now been received by the rockets, NBA and every other franchise. best believe EVERY SINGLE other franchise, within a day or so, will send out a message to everyone, that discussing china on social media etc is discouraged (aka OFF LIMITS). that is much more important to China, than getting one random GM fired.

China is about as communistic as north korea is democratic, their economic system is what is called state capitalism i.e. the same system lots of other self proclaimed communistic countries have.

This shyt getting crazy

Nets owner bringing up the imperalism, Opium War and Pearl Harbor... like China wasnt fukking over other countries

Im going into all of this because a student of history will understand that the Chinese psyche has heavy baggage when it comes to any threat, foreign or domestic, to carve up Chinese territories.

When the topic of any separatist movement comes up, Chinese people feel a strong sense of shame and anger because of this history of foreign occupation.

By now I hope you can begin to understand why the Daryl Morey tweet is so damaging to the relationship with our fans in China. I don’t know Daryl personally. I am sure he’s a fine NBA general manager, and I will take at face value his subsequent apology that he was not as well informed as he should have been. But the hurt that this incident has caused will take a long time to repair.

Yep. Gotta look at how they handle other aspects of society besides their economy.

Even in their economy. It’s free market capitalism for businessmen like Tilman and other billionaires/large corporations. And before some smart dumb nikka comes quoting me trying to draw parallels to America, let me break it down in simplist terms. If you were a regular breh and wanted to open a barbershop down the street, you would more then likely be able to do that here as opposed to China where you are giving some social credit score before birth and denied a chance to do anything productive in life outside making Nike shoes

Well trump does
:ehh: I don't think he actually has anything there other than buying some shytty ties with his logo stamped on them

NPR Choice page

SCHMITZ: Well, like many prospective business deals here in China, his business deals follow the sort of familiar one-step-forward-two-steps-back approach. In 2012, Trump's hotel business opened its first Asia office down the street from me here in Shanghai. They hired a CEO to manage operations, and a year later they signed a deal with China's State Grid Corporation. That's the company that provides electricity to nearly all of China. The deal was to build what was called a, quote, unquote, "major development in Beijing worth a billion dollars."

But that deal was scrapped when Chinese authorities opened a corruption investigation into State Grid, alleging it had illegally used public land for the project. When we called the CEO for Trump's hotel business here in Shanghai, he told NPR that he no longer works at the company. And a visit to its office showed that Trump's Asia branch has been closed for some time.

EDIT: Already posted.

They wouldn't have freed up his capital if he didn't support China to begin with. This is a bad look for the NBA.
