China's rise is creating a new arms race within east Asia. Countries like S. Korea and Japan are spending more money on defense in response to China's posturing. I think we live in very interesting times because we are beginning to a see shift where east Asia is becoming a hotbed for economic growth with China leading the way. And with these new developments we can expect to see relations between China and the American Empire deteriorate. There is no doubt that America is still the dominant military power and will remain so for some time. However, by 2035 it is projected that China's military spending will surpass the U.S. and may have the largest economy by 2020. The objective of every empire is self preservation and doubt two world superpowers can coexist peacefully.

What do you guys think? How different will our world be with China being aligned with the U.S. in economic and military power. What will be the roles of countries surrounding China's sphere of influence? Korea,Japan, India, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and even Australia.

war isn't happening between America and china our economies are becoming too intertwined. Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia will still be making our clothes in 10 years.

I agree. I don't think we'll have an outright war with China. However, its foolish to believe that America will sit by and let another country become powerful enough to one day match them in military strength. History has shown us this. From day one our intention has always been to be the dominant world power.
In fact I would be surprise if we didn't see major proxy wars funded and exacerbated by the two empires in the future.

China is no where near powerful enough to be taken seriously. Stop.:stopitslime:
Hundreds of nukes say otherwise.

The problem is people have a hard time understanding that 2 nuclear armed countries will not have a conventional war. Much like Russia and the U.S. If war ever erupted, it would go straight to nukes, no soldiers, or ships, or anything else needed, it will go right to button pushing.

with that said, neither will ever, EVER go to war. Ever. Might as well write to all these people writing these articles to stoppit because unless they're trying to predict an apocalypse it's useless to even have the discussion.

:ehh:Sounds like you are taking them seriously.... dont.

perhaps I'm wrong but I believe the future belongs to China. The west is in decline and the old order is returning. Perhaps is time to learn some Mandarin my friend.

I started learning Mandarin in 2003 and I can safely say after a decade of China experience, it has done almost jack and shyt for me. It's sole purpose has been to entertain drunk people who want to hear something that sounds funny.

China ain't shyt.
