To be fair, a ton of Chinese "corporate debt" is owed by state-owned enterprises. So, effectively, it is also government debt, as they would provide a backstop to most of it if the economy were to sputter.

The dollar is viewed as the golden standard which is partly why the yuan is pegged to the dollar. Taking that away will also do additional harm to our currency. I could be wrong

I have never heard of a mainland Chinese student taking out a loan or getting a scholarship. I should probably know.. they my people. They just head over, do tourist shyt and ball out, then dip with their degree. I mean maybe there's some poor students who really wanna study and happen to get scholarships, and of course there's a few cheap pricks that abuse th system, but it's not like they're literally telling the universities to forgo scholarships to deserving black folk so they can study there.
Most just leave when their degree is done.
