I minimized this while playing a game and I think I know what's going on here. I listen to some different stuff when rap bores me.

I think Donald Glover is making a movie soundtrack as different artists/genres of music.

I took guesses at what kind of song he's trying to make here.

  1. Kanye
  2. Green Day?
  3. Kanye/Cudi?
  4. NO FN clue
  5. Female ATL rapper? Lotto?
  6. no idea edm house
  7. Them nikkas that made fireflies(Owl City)
  8. The Weeknd
  9. DRAKE hahahah this is hilarious
  10. No idea I don't know
  11. no clue but i like this song a lot
  12. Travis Scott
  13. no clue
  14. The Offspring?
  15. This chord progression sounds familiar. It sounds like a 90s soft rock song.
  16. Reggae Bob Marley
  17. A pop song that has a Daft Punk sample

I used to listen to movie soundtracks for music. They aren't as popular as before and I wish they'd make a comeback. They'd have all kinds of shyt on there.

Makes for a nice send-off album for the Childish Gambino persona of his with it containing a little bit of everything he’s done leading up to this point.

Could hear a little bit of Awaken, My Love in ‘We Are God’ and ‘No Excuses’.

‘Steps Beach’ is definitely carrying on the spirit of his Kauai album while some of the more energetic tracks like ‘Got to Be’, ‘Survive’, and ‘Yoshinoya’ are restoring BTI, and even Camp, energy. The punk-pop tracks could fit onto Camp as well, with the sound catering towards something that would come out in the early aughts.

That makes sense. I was thinking the first verse was current Drake, and the 2nd half was like Thank Me Later era Drake.
