My Uncle not rich but when he got divorced his ex-wife took his house and he was forced to pay alimony.

Not sure about the average coli breh but my uncle was a army vet. Not a millionaire or anything special.

I had a who had to pay child support and alimony/spousal support. He had to give up the house, a vehicle, a significant amount of money per month, a portion % of his RETIREMENT account, and like 2 other things as well.....and it was for a total of like 10-15 years or so per the divorce decree. She had to give him something but it was very small in comparison.

But, ultimately it's BS bc if the woman gets remarried, then all that alimony stops. But who tf is going to get remarried and give up enough money to not have to work?

So, you end up paying ur ex to live in your house, drive your car, bring new dudes over to your house, & around your child. That's enough to make marriage scary.

I think theirs a difference between spousal support and alimony. Spousal Support is when you have to support her standard of living. Alimony is in regards to infidelity.
