Why do yall make up metrics for awards :what: Who said he has to ā€˜win his divisionā€™ to be mvp? He just has to have a great team record. If the ravens finish 12-5 and Steelers finish 13-4 and ravens lose the division no one is gonna say ā€˜welp, canā€™t give it to himā€™.

And Josh has to win AND put up stats. Theyā€™re not giving it to a game manager. Now if Allen finishes as the 1 seed WITH stats then heā€™ll win it but he will have deserved it, they wouldnā€™t be ā€œhandingā€ him anything and it wouldnā€™t be ā€œnarrativeā€
There are very few QBs who have won outright MVP without winning their division. Peyton Manning in 2008 was the last. That was a weird year, though. Brady was out for the season, Warner and Rivers had great years, but were 9-7 and 8-8. Brees had a monster year, but missed the playoffs at 8-8. I always wondered why AD didnt get more MVP love that season. Despite all I typed, it was Chad Pennington who finished as the runner up for turning around the Dolphins

Joe Burrow

Burrow??? And he the only one besides Brady who proved he can do in playoff too.

Pound for pound with the worst Mahomes we've seen yet; and no hard ware. Pipe down.

Burrow and Allen make the Chiefs sweat everytime

Then how has Burrow done it wit his record against Mahomes includin in playoffs? He not a generational freak athlete and he not that clutch or nothin.
Yall on this Burrow shyt like as if Mahomes just didn't collapse

Mahomes literally choked that title game away, don't give Burrow too much credit for that

Allen has been the very opposite of game manager, in fact he's been the very definition of most valuable player. 9-2 with a rookie 2nd rounder being one of your top weapons is good

If youā€™ve watched Buffalo they can play and win in many ways. Without Coleman and Kincaid, they could easily shift to ā€˜lean on the defenseā€™ against lesser opponents.

But yea Allen is playing great. MVP in most yearsā€¦..But Lamar Jackson has 25 td 3int and on pace for 1000 rushing yards. What is your point right now?! :wtf: :heh:

If Allen keeps up the numbers heā€™s got a shot. If he doesnā€™t, he doesnā€™t. ā€œNarrativeā€ might win out when itā€™s close or there ainā€™t a clear cut guy. But narrative is not winning out in the type of season Lamar is having

Iā€™ve never thought about this in my life.

MVPs come from winning teams and those teams typically have won their division =/= MVPā€™s are chosen based on division winners

If Lamar finishes with 40td, 5int, 1000 yards rushing ravens 12-5ā€”perhaps the greatest QB statistical seasonal everā€”ā€”theyā€™re not NOT gonna give him MVP bc he didnā€™t win his division :comeon:

I never said it was decided by division winners, simply stating a fact. If he has that level of season, he may still get it. Idk why you arent acting like team records dont matter. See Joe Montana vs Randall Cunningham in 1990. Posting on pace stats is cool, but there is alot of fball left to be played

We deserved to lose. Offense has to play better. DLine gotta capitalize off Chris being doubled no homo. And we have to figure out a counter for teams attacking our lack of speed at LB

Why the tears?

Those years were the best chances of having an MVP in N.O. :mjcry:

Unfortunately, Brees was outshined by media darlings who are higher on the pecking order (Peyton and Rodgers) and the next big thing (Mahomes) in his last hurrah. :mjcry:

I have since resigned to the fact that there will never be an MVP on the Saints. :mjcry:

It is not meant to be. :mjcry:

@b. woods 2009 was pure garbage. Peyton did go 14-0 before his HC waved the flag on the perfect season, but Brees couldve gotten a co MVP nod. Rodgers was brilliant in 2011 and he carried an awful defense, but one thing everyone ignore is the fact that his backup put up like 470 and 6 td in the seasons final game. If your backup can do that,.how valuable are you?!

Joe Blow is mid. But what I posted has nothing to do with him. My post was about that Paul Bunyan looking MF who's only comparable to elites on their off day

The question is how much is correlation and how much is causality.

Cause from those latest 10 years, those guys were also unanimously the best players regardless of if they came 1st or 2nd. Or their competitors were also from teams that came 1st (or second).

But I can see Allen winning, for performance in the perhaps biggest regular season game. The same day Lamar flopped. But thereā€™s still 6-7 games left. Steelers still have a hard schedule. I think Bills vs Lions will be an important game.

I also donā€™t think Lamar cares about winning MVP if he doesnā€™t make it to NO
