Now this post is the first post with valid points, but you know that he's on L.E.P's album right and that they've been fukking with each other. I just don't think they fit Kanye's vision for his label. He's basically got 1 new rapper on his label, that's Big Sean. 3 legends Common, Tip and Mos Def and 1 semi-legend Pusha-T and singers. I don't think Kanye wants to sign nikkas he can't be friends with, it doesn't seem that way.

Young Reese was signed by No I.D. Kanye's main man, for all we know Kanye might've recommended him. I'm not and I don't know who said he was doing it to help Cheif Keef. I think he did it cause the track was hot, which is the normal reason for doing a remix. And I don't believe that doing a song with one imo wackest rappers in the Chi will increase his stock in Chicago, Chris Martin gave him more street credibility than that with Homecoming.

As far as Chicago goes, he put J. Ivey on his album, Lupe Fiasco on is single, GLC, Rhymefest, even gave twista his first hit song, he put Syleena Johnson on his single, Really Doe and probably a few more cats. This nikka doesn't owe Chicago nothing, he didn't in live in Chicago when he was coming up dude has been living in NY/LA for the past 12 years. And as far as putting on for his city he's way ahead of most rappers. He's no Birdman, Dr. Dre or Master P but he done put on.

You made some valid points... but Kanye working with Chicago's legit buzz artist at the time does in fact help Kanye try to maintain credibility in Chicago, his hometown, who he shouts out all the time but isn't exactly liked out there. Artists like L.E.P. are a lot older & smarter so they're gonna play the politics & not let cats know how they really feel about Kanye...

But as far as Kanye & No I.D. "helping" it's all bullshyt just to maintain credibility with the YOUTH... nothing else.

No I.D. is the PRESIDENT of Def Jam... he signed Reese & Durk (who already had a bidding war after Chop & Keef got picked up) because they represent the YOUTH of the city, not necessarily talent & they also were being courted by Warner Bros. & Columbia, Kanye had little to do with it. Why is Mikkey Halsted who is his right hand man *STILL* not signed to Def Jam? I seen these 2 dudes at Universal Music Group just 2 weeks ago & he still hasn't offered him a deal & that's his main artist/friend.

Syleena Johnson was an established artist already at the time he did "All Falls Down" with her but now that she isn't doing anything & is struggling you think he's reached out? No... & GLC & Rhymefest were his friends so of course he signed them but he never did any real shyt with them except jump on a couple songs. & he only put Lupe on the song AFTER he jacked the concept & Lupe was tight about it behind the scenes...

Twista is a GOD in Chicago so of course Kanye wanted to fukk with him in the beginning & I do believe that was legit. Twista actually fukked that up by dissing Kanye behind his back so I understand Kanye not fukking with him now.

You're right Kanye doesn't owe Chicago anything but he also is at fault for faking like he gives back to his city or puts his city on when in reality he does not. I think to play the politics Chop & Keef should've just kept their mouths closed but I also understand why they feel the way they do.
