Tigray region just had a rally 1 or 2 days ago where the president of the region said something to the effect of "Either we live together as ethopians in peace or we will secede". Idk just seems like some type of decentralization is in Ethiopia's future

I've read somewhere that they've been preparing for the possibility of secession since the amhara joined the anti government protests by stocking up weapons.. As with anything that comes from the horn, it's hard to confirm tho.
Can they even create a viable state? Would be under constant threat from all sides, surrounded by enemies.
They are probably just throwing a fit because they are no longer in control.

I know it came like a year after the fact but when that general was having all those high level people killed there a month or so back it made me go hmmm...
Of course the pressure and failures/setbacks of the project may have just pushed him over the edge...
Kinda crazy to think breh popped himself in such a public place and fancy car and no one even noticed but suicide isn't really a rational act...

I’m wondering if the general unrest is what’s held things up too. Everything from this assassination to the current ethnic-nationalist unrest feels like efforts to destabilize from abroad. I’m totally suspicious of Egypt, they even had that clip where the cabinet meeting was outright talking about strategies to destabilize Ethiopia and stall the Dam project.
