if these kids were given the tools and resources to do great things, then it would happen more often. Unfortunately, they don't.
A few more job opportunities around their way can help too.

breh, it is that simple. what prevents them from doing everything i said? are they bound to those streets? are they prevented from taking buses into the city and visiting the library? is there a law against them reading books? yes, everything you've cited exists in EVERY hood across america. chicago isn't unique. go to st. louis or brooklyn or any other hood and you'll find a dearth of resources that benefit the growth of those communities. that doesn't mean that there aren't opportunities and avenues to escape that hell. people do it every single day. all it takes is a conscious decision to put the guns down and pick up the books. that's ALL it takes. that's not naivete speaking. it's just common sense.
you said
you're not? if these kids decided to take trips to the library, educate themselves, and spend their money on shyt that is USEFUL (computers, wifi access, etc.), their chances of succeeding wouldn't significantly improve? you're making excuses. you're acting as if they can't do shyt that is simple. what the hell does lack of hospital care have to do with spending a couple dollars and trekking into the city to read. to partake of a privilege that black men and women DIED FOR. do you even grasp the fact that our ancestors shed blood so that these children could read and write. but you want to sit there and say that "it's not that simple." that's bullshyt.
and i think it's a damn shame that you laugh at the mere concept of them reading books instead of destroying their minds and killing themselves in those streets. you find it funny that i entertain the idea that maybe they should pick a book up and put a gun down. if you can't grasp how tragically sad that is, i don't know what else to say to you, breh.
Kermit you makin too much sense to these old excuse having ass 40 acres and a mule waiting nikkas. Ooh we've been systematically oppressed. Ok and? So when is enough gonna be enough. After fighting for civil liberties, giving up and blaming the govt is how we repay those that fought for more equality?whatever. last week, a 20 year old kid who worked on a virtual reality design since he was 16 earned 2 billion dollars, given to him by mark zuckerberg's facebook. think about that while you're here making excuses for these people in YOUR city. you're here talking about "povertous" landscapes and other gibberish, while you have white and asian kids across our country focusing on shyt that matters and laying foundations for them to be prosperous at very young ages. all the while, young black nikkas in YOUR city want to smoke loud and kill one another over city streets.
non-black kids out here are creating iphone apps and making REAL money. not this chump change. REAL DOLLARS that drive our economy. but, you're right. i'm just a coddled sheltered c00n nikka who doesn't know what he's talking about.

The flaw with these people's the gubment been holding us down shyt. Is that people from these same forgotten hoods facing the same struggles have made it out. It all about choices. You choose to not value education, and look at school as corny, but still fall for the trappings of the street knowing the shyt just lead to trouble that's on you. I'm tired of hearing all these lame excuses of the gubment holding us back. They sure don't hold you back from buying those Jordan's though. Cats that have it so bad shouldn't be walking around with princely attire. If you really had it bad y'all would be lookin worse out chea. Anyone joining a gang andd out here murdering people, trust me It ain't the govt making do that dumb shyt.

isn't everyone who succeeds an exception to the rule? anyone who has succeeded, even those who are "sheltered," have "endured shyt," as you put it. they've had to try and fail numerous times before ultimately making it over whenever hurdles stood in their way (unless they were exceptionally lucky and made it on their first try).you keep talkin about people who are the exception to the rule.
life is not about the exception to the fukk'n rule.
it is about the fukk'n rule, you idiot.
that is what your sheltered goof ass does not get.
as you are sheltered and never endured shyt.
so, you process shyt only from your self equated bubble.
I know so, because I was more successful, and lived that life.
before real strife, drama and enemies ruined that bubble sheltered false fake existence.
the walk in a sheltered place where the walls are new, and not from the fifties is a dreamscape for you.
you have no idea of what life is really about beyond your sheltered self equated life.

Better to be alive at 30 than dead at 18.These are children breh...
They are NOT Jason Bournes...Walking in a room and knowing exactly who is wearing what, what are all the exits, which car can easily be stolen and etc...
They are just neighbourhood children...They have to catch the bus, go to school, hang out in McDonalds, go to block parties and etc...
There are a million and one places were any one of these children can get caught lacking...
Plus there are just way to many gangs within gangs for any one of these children to feel safe, expect with the other children they grew up with and live with everyday...
For example, Lil Durk is cool with 600, but you don't really see Lil Reese with those boys...Even though it is all Black Disciples...
It must be psychological hell to be a young black male living in Chicago slums...Savagery is a defence mechanism and survival strategy...
You have to accept it, to increase your chances of survival...If you are confused and you don't have an identity, you will be insecure and timid for the rest of your life...

but they're trying, at least. the people in chicago aren't even trying. they've given up. and they're celebrating it.
