because they're taught not to value black life. black life is seen as expendable. if you're not a ball player or rapper, you're nobody in the eyes of many blacks in the hood.

i'm not denying what you're saying, but those facts about whites aren't reinforced in the popular cultural images propagated over the airwaves. thus, in our culture of low informed and impressionable citizens, blacks are the ones who are viewed as the bearers of all things negative. that is just how it is, and the way that we combat that is to stop supporting and defending those blacks in our ghettos who push that stereotypical behavior.
we turn our backs on them. we say, "NO, that behavior will not be tolerated." we force white people to look at see that most of us want a better life and want to improve ourselves and move on from poverty. that's how we defeat that racist perception of black america.
