Its just as bad out in Philly. Everybody has a choice tho. Growing up, there were kids who we knew were killers, there were kids who just played ball all day and there were kids just hanging with their boys, getting girls, not getting involved in anything. I AM suggesting that food stamp cuts will make the problems WORSE. I'm not advocating for public assistance, but if public assistance was eliminated altogether you don't think crime would skyrocket?

and what i'm saying is that it has nothing to do with the problem so cutting it would not have an effect. they've been cutting public assistance all across the country since the late 90's and crime as only been going down (not saying there's any correlation) cutting it all together might cause a small spike but in the long run no. look at it this way, and i'm speaking from my observation from living in a poor hood, if welfare is cut all together then it would put a burden on the kids also in these single mother households to generate income, some would turn to crime but they'll quickly figure out that one that shyt is not going to generate enough income to maintain the household and they'll also realize that as a bread winner you don't want to take the chance of getting locked up, shot, etc. people with real responsibilities ain't got know time for the fukkery. I grew up around a lot of hustling and stickup kids and none of them was responsible for taking care of parents or siblings most of them dudes don't didn't even take care of their kids.

i've seen a lot of situations where dudes got kicked out there house who use to do little hustling and knuckle head shyt and unless them dudes found some chick to lay up with to be a second mother most of them dudes came to the realization that street bullshyt ain't leading nowhere or paying bills and went and got a job. In nyc they cut off section 8 and since then abortions among poor black women shot up cause all them hoodrats realized that they ain't getting a rent free apartment anymore just for popping out a baby avoiding introducing kids into fukked up households. welfare only gives people enough to be a little comfortable but at the same time kills any motivation to strive and succeed. people response to economics more than anything else.

YOU are paying to put food on these hair hatted females' dinner tables, while their children are out in the streets gunning each other down. YOU are paying to continue the cycle. i used to be in favor of "welfare," but not so much anymore. i think we need to shut off all of these services. if it means starving them, so be it. let them start to understand the importance of education and hard work.

and if crime increases, that's not our fault. if they need to commit crime to feed themselves, that's reflective of their poor decisions.

Complain about 33 cents to a dollar out of a paycheck for welfare, but ignore the other taxes that fund industrial complexes. Putting into welfare isn't continuing a cycle of what you described. It's making sure people have food on their table to survive, especially in this time of need with millions of people not collecting unemployment with no jobs in sight. While youre sitting here quoting fox news you don't understand that food and clothing corporations contributed to welfare the most. State money keeps them in business, while also saving them wage money so they wouldnt have to give their workers full time work. I worked in walmart for 2 years and it was a same how many employess, even mangers had ebt card.

Do you think black people would still be living off 300-500 dollars a month if they was better options presented to all of us? I looked for a job before I went out there and did dirt, between the dot dots running fast food to the old cacs and mexicans running the supermarkets it wasnt a place out there for me to work and make decent money in my teen years. All of this was in the 00s btw before we got hit with this recession so imagine how hard it is now.
