You shouldn't be a chicago rapper if you can't afford to leave. Even conscious rappers like like Kanye, Lupe and Common left.
I don’t mean no harm, but didn’t you have a thread about being a law school educated square but wanting to turn to street life?? C’mon b - but you expect dudes raised on the trenches, growing up with limited to no options, lacking resources to just pick up and leave the minute they sign the deal knowing they have kids, parents, cousins that they can’t leave without guarantees in place. Then you want to act like Kanye’s mom where he was an only child whose mom was a university professor compared to Ducks, LA or Von’s mom - that “pack up and leave” shyt is so standard form, from a keyboard. Despite the underlying issues and conflicts of how they are there in the first place
Like dudes didn’t pack up and move to Iowa and Ohio, and still get got over vendettas. On top of that, majority of the time it’s their own family members and perceived alliances setting them up or giving out drops, like a hating or jealous ass morally bankrupt “friend of family” won’t give up a location they’re coming in from out of town on a visit, for 10k bags on their head. Record company CEOs don’t gaf about protecting their “investment” but people expect a 19-23 yr old to carry that financial burden and secure themselves, family, squad etc etc against someone intent on murking them. The Road to hell is paved with good intentions.
