Here’s one, illegal immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than US citizens.

Only difference between immigrants coming here now for a better life than the Europeans during the Ellis island time period is the color of their skin.

I watch an international news like Al jazerra and see immigration issues throughout Europe and USA. Have you seen pictures and video outside the rosevelt hotel in NY? Have you seen how run down Paris has become?

The corruption is now far beyond resolution there. Tax money funneled from the base and transferred elsewhere. No upward mobility exists, wage increases, just elimination of the working class. Bring in immigrants to do the jobs current Americans got too smart and realized they are not being paid fairly

As far as that immigration stat goes, we’ll see when the annual stats come out this year.

Democrats = have a mix of good ideas and shytty ideas. They pander to Latinos because they (mistakenly) view them as a solid voting bloc. They will usually fall 60/40 Dems at BEST.....unless they're more whitewashed.

Their voting participation is usually the lowest so you're chasing a pot 'o gold with them. Too many different cultures, colors etc, to put in a box.....like saying "we got the Asian vote" which includes Pakistanis, Koreans and Samoans .


Republicans = we can't even consider voting for them because they actively try to take our voting rights away....and everything else. Not an option.

Third Party = they gotta win at the local levels and then take over cities. Slowly move to getting state legislature power and then maybe winning a gubernatorial race. Just throwing out a presidential candidate every 4 years is a waste of time. Build your bench.

Black people = most of us are intelligent, critical thinkers. We lack numbers because there's never been a flood of immigrant Negroes to boost our population up. Until we can start mass importing other Blacks, it's gonna be tough sledding.

Other groups have threatened to withhold their votes if candidates don't have plans designed to help them, and those candidates proceed to do whatever to gain their support. It's only with black folks where the idea of not voting in order to hold these people accountable is seen as dumb c00n behavior. Driving the news: The administration is facing growing tension between new migrants, politicians and community members.

• Last week a block of alders demanded a special council meeting on how to respond to Chicago's migrant crisis.

The scope: More than 40 recommendations in the report aim to address challenges ranging from employment for migrants and diverse language needs in CPS to gentrification of low-income immigrant neighborhoods and access to city services for undocumented residents.

Committee members: The 21-person group includes a broad range of community leaders — led by Illinois Rep. Lilian Jiménez, SEIU Local 1 president Genie Kastrup and Andrea Ortiz-Landín of the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council.

Goal 1: Strengthen and invest in infrastructure "to be inclusive of migrant and refugee communities to make Chicago a true Welcoming City," the report says.

Intriguing recommendations:

• Ask state and federal agencies to allow new arrivals to work with authorization.
• Look into opening up city employment to immigrant communities excluded by federal work rules.

Goal 2: Expand multilingual education, and integrate sanctuary policies" in CPS.

Intriguing recommendations: "Move away from transitional bilingual education" and toward programs that value and teach both English and native heritage languages.

• Address concerns about immigration enforcement officials entering school grounds.
• Allow excused absences for CPS students and employees who need to attend immigration appointments.

What we're watching: Illinois hospitality leaders and some bipartisan lawmakers have urged the White House to help address labor shortages by allowing expedited work visas for new arrivals.

• But so far, they say, they've had no luck.

What they're saying: "Restaurateurs and small businesses are desperate for workers," says Illinois Restaurant Association CEO Sam Toia, who noted recent federal data shows more than 400,000 job openings in Illinois.

• "A significant percentage of these openings are within hospitality, an industry that provides valuable training, experience, and career paths," Toia, who's pushing the Biden administration to help with temporary work permits for migrants, tells Axios.
• "People are our industry's greatest asset, and expanding our workforce is essential to its success."
