man, I used to live on drexel off 83rd and I swear, the few times I took the cottage bus to work back in the day, I would always wait for the express joint. so much faster

but they cancelled the X4 express cottage bus, so now ya'll are out of luck. I was pissed when they cancelled damn near all the express busses.

Thankfully I only have to take that bus once every blue moon. My aunt own a salon over by 80th and cottage and she does my hair at times.

And only express buses left that I know of is the 147 and 91 austin I believe?

yeah its some bullshyt. I still remember when they closed the green line for 2 straight years back in the 90's. like in 1993. now that was some bullshyt.

If there was ample parking in the chinatown area, I'd drive down there and ride the train. but since there's not, I'mma have to take the orange line to the purple line instead. cuz from the looks of it, there's plenty of parking where I wanna get on the orange line at.

but shyt, the redline currently is awful. its slower than a mf'er once you pass chinatown anyways. so it needs to be closed.

I havent took the red line in ages. the blue and green lines are the fastest frm my experience.

I took the green line for a change cuz I worked downtown yesterday, and it was fast once I got on. but I had to wait like 10 minutes for a train. and this is at 7am when them shyts should come every 5 minutes.

red line in the morning never has me waiting. them shyts come like clockwork. and this is both on the north and south side.

purple line. if u miss that shyt, they take forever to come. but them shyts are if ur riding from howard cuz they are express from howard to belmont or vice versa.

I haven't taken the blue line to forest park in years, but taking it from ohare sucks, cuz there's a lot of slow track. similar to the redline once u pass cermak.

there are still express buses. I saw a stoney island express bus yesterday when I was running in hyde park. they also got others. but for the most part, they shut down damn near all the express buses. I think they are gonna bring em back in some manner once the red line closes next year.

fares ain't gonna hurt me, since I pay the single fare rate anyways, and I dont ride enough to justify a 3 day or 7 day pass. but I see they are raping folks with these prices. I just saw it on the news now. that increase on the price in riding from o'hare is highway robbery. why is ohare charging $5 to ride outta that joint, but it still cost $2.25 to take the orange line outta midway???

My monthly Metra pass is $135 but my job pays $75 of it

I think my job does provide a public transportation reimbursement. I know my old one did. I'm going to have to sign up. CTA is on some other shyt with these prices. A $14 increase???!!!
