media sensationalism. the reason these stories are publicized is to get clicks. cuz for the average person, there is no war zone just existing and doing day to day things on any given day. chicago isn't even close to leading the country in shooting or murders.

This isn’t true. Chicago leads in raw murders and shootings it’s just not the per capita leader because it’s such a populated, stratified city.

The worse neighborhoods in Chicago some with the population of small cities have ridiculously high murder rates.

Garfield Park an area of about 35,000 inhabitants had a 208 (!) per 100,000 murder rate last year.

Chicago gang culture has spread nationwide.

Chicago is that bad.
