Yes, that's a problem in many cities but it's especially problematic when there are people with outsized influence combined with large bank accounts funding guns, stolen cars and bails.

CHICAGO (AP) — When street-gang thieves slipped with ease into a Norfolk Southern rail yard on Chicago’s South Side and ripped locks off one train, they likely expected to see merchandise like toys or tennis shoes. What they beheld instead was a gangster’s jackpot: box after box of brand new guns.
The guns had been en route from New Hampshire weapon maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. to Spokane, Washington. Instead, the .45-caliber Ruger revolvers and other firearms spread quickly into surrounding high-crime neighborhoods. Along with two other major gun thefts within three years, the robbery helped fuel a wave of violence on Chicago’s streets.

Rip to her but I can tell what type of person she was being out on the the block in Roseland at midnight with 5 children at home. Hopefully they were at home because a lot of these unfit mothers be having they 3 and 4 year olds out on the block with them at 1am.
Edit: Just seen her Facebook post. Y’all want to know the parents who be having multiple kids gunned down? Exhibit A. Her kids ain’t have no chance.
Edit 2: These folks don’t want to leave the hood. No doubt she was prolly on Section 8. If she really wanted to get out of that situation she could’ve taken that Section 8 and moved her family to DeKalb or something.
