more police presence doesn't mean more crimes solved


especially when they don't GAF about solving them.

i said surveillance. cameras. inner city chicago is most likely one of the most heavily surveilled areas in the country. i'd bet good money it is. just doesn't make any sense that we have all these people getting shot every weekend "in Chicago" but we very rarely hear about any arrests. there are stories where the authorities have tracked people for miles and miles from the scene of a crime using camera relays.

you couldn’t shoot 50+ white people over the course of a single weekend in areas with multiple cameras covering every square inch and just report the news like it’s no big deal and white people simply sit back and take it. And every weekend for years? Hell nah. White people would raise holy hell until something was done. I guess Black people really do take it all in stride.

The people in this thread probably are not familiar with the neighborhoods in Chicago. They assume every shooting is by Black gangs and they are not aware that Puerto Ricans and Mexicans also have violent gangs like the Latin Kings in that city.
