I'm confused as to why people look at Chicago as the country's most violent place. Chicago was 16th in murder rate in 2019. 5 hours away in St. Louis, the city ranks #1 in murder rate and has been consistently in the top 3 for a couple of decades. Chicago is doing well compared to MANY other cities. And yet people only seem to care about Chicago. The shyt is weird

CHICAGO — A mail carrier was shot Thursday on Chicago’s South Side.

Fire department officials said the woman was shot while she was in the 9100 block of South Ellis Avenue in the city’s Burnside neighborhood around 11:30 a.m.

Police said she was shot four times in the stomach area.

Mail could be seen strewn on the sidewalk near where the shooting took place.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police are investigating.
