Because the government killed George Floyd, and had the protests not happened, his killer would still be free. When a black civilian murderer is caught, they are not let go without a consequence. You protest when no justice is served.

Unless we know a civilian personally, we don’t have the power to change it. How is protesting nationwide going to stop a private citizen from doing something?

For 1, Police brutality impacts me more because the Police are everywhere. Chicago violence is in Chicago.

I'm not out of touch, it's so many people in the hood having kids too early or in a very bad situation and thise kids have to bear that burden the most and end up growing up with a loose grip on values and morality and in turn contribute to the increasingly degrading environment around them. Children come with upkeep and if you can't provide them a stable lifestyle they will reciprocate that energy.

Video is less than 12 minutes but for those that are not able to watch, some of the main points:

* Lupe feels that he has been ostracized for calling out ALL acts of violence against black people (including black-on-black crime).
* He understands that people are upset about police brutality, but we should keep the same energy for black-on-black crime which is arguably worse.
* In reference to Rayshard Brooks people are worried about firing cops that were actually (relatively) respectful and calm when interacting with Rayshard until he became violent, but Lupe hasn't heard a word on the 104 people that were shot over the weekend.
* Hood dudes are being rewarded for their toxic behavior (influenced by music) and that is having a negative impact on our community in the form of extreme violence.

For reference - Lupe is discussing the violence that took place over Father's Day weekend. More than 104 people (mostly black) shot and so far 14 people were killed. You can read more about it here:

I agree but we are only 13% of the population. Add COVID cases, cancer, HBP, cops..we need a better way than just creating more kids outta wedlock to keep our race going. No telling what they're gonna have in the meds or vaccines that could stop our reproduction as well

"A better way" is only possible if you overturn the system that breaks up families and puts black folks in jail or in the dirt. I don't think saying "but, but, but what about black people hurting other black people" does anything to help that. If anything, it gives cover to the people who defend the system with "see, black people hurt themselves more than our police do."

The vaccine stuff is paranoia, but I honestly get it because you can't have knowledge of stuff like the Tuskegee experiments and not be paranoid. Being black in this country is being paranoid. However, I think the system is just good with killing us directly via policing and poor nutrition and doesn't need to go to the trouble of rigging vaccines.

And the most fukked up part is, most of them were legitimately rich and famous, but still being victims of gun violence. They weren't exactly starving either. Not only these racist cops do this, but black c00ns that do it as well. Anyone that kills black people outside of self defense, is an enemy of the black community. Period. Just that CACs cops are #1, black c00ns are number 2.
