Chi is just breathing in more oxygen than breathing out carbon dioxide, the imbalance causes lightheadedness feeling of eurphoria, not a mystical magical energy.

wrist/forearm strength coupled with a strong core.
This, as well as practice and focus, although as stated deep breathing can have profound effects in energizing, giving you clarity/euphoria etc.
Maybe I'm wrong maybe I'm right.

So basically it's the equivalent to alining your charkras?it's a combination of focus, marrying breathing to movement, and hand conditioning, and in some cases pure fakery. There are legitimate practitioners of Iron Palm out there, I know some myself. A lot of the training is really not so different conceptually from hitting a heavy bag. The only difference is that theres a meditative aspect, and herbal salves applied after training to speed up recovery.
Chi, as I understand it, coming from someone who's been into daoism for a bit, isnt mystical energy. For lack of a better explanation, having 'good Qi' is when all of the systems of your body are maintained very well. Basically, being in super good health. I don't really want to talk about Neigong or any internal alchemy related stuff because it's wonky, but at the end of the day it can help you regulate your bodily functions just as much as any healthy form of exercise and diet.
It's similar to yoga. Most Qigong practices are derived from chinese gymnastic exercises called daoyin, which are excellent for maintaining basic health. There are lots of mental and physical benefits to both practices that are similar. It's not all soft, flexible stuff though. A lot of it is hard endurance or plyometric based calisthenics as well.So basically it's the equivalent to alining your charkras?
