I don`t think it was originally a work. NOW it most definitely is. If i was trying to work the audience, i would have (Warning, this is some fan fiction shyt, the E would never actually do)
1. Taken Charlotte off tv.
2. Spread rumors of Charlotte maybe being pregnant.
3. Have Charlotte debunk it on twitter in a subtle way.
4. Then spread rumors of her requesting time off again, and WWE rejecting her request.
5. Have Becky cut a promo on the go home show that Charlotte is scared of her, and is trying to get out of the match backstage.
6. Cancel the match after the opener of SS, and have Becky do a worked shoot confirming Charlotte is not pregnant, requested time off to get pregnant, and that Charlotte wouldn`t play ball tonight backstage. Also she says the old man is livid at Charlotte. Charlotte is leaving the fans who paid to see the match empty handed. End the promo with "Charlotte, i know you`re back there because you`re required to still show up, whether you`re booked or not. If you no longer want to be in this company, then quit just like you did tonight, and join your midcard fiancé over there at that other company. No one`s stopping you. Hell, i may even toss some dollars your way to help buy you out you`re contract. But until then, on behalf of myself, and every man, and woman working their ass off to entertain these people who paid their hard earned money for what we`ve been promoting the past month. You have three more years left to fulfill on your contract. So fulfil it, bytch! [drops mic]
7. Later that night have Charlotte attack Becky backstage. The fight makes it`s way to the ring.
8. Have Stephanie or Cokeboy make it a Street Fight match. Have it end in a draw of course.
