Threw me off that they used the same guy's voice for every single other character, even women's voices. Wasn't sure if he was gay or this was a transgender film :heh:

Only 3 voice actors total

The stop motion was incredible. I caught myself forgetting about it a couple of times. The main character was oddly interesting, although not necessarily a very likeable or relatable guy.

I'm not sure I got the point of this movie. Everyone else was the same to him and he found someone different and that made him feel alive for a brief moment and then she became just like everyone else.

I guess it's something about life being boring and trying top find the moments of inspiration? I think this one was over my head brehs :russ:

There's a lot of symbolism and metaphors in the movie (any Kaufman movie really). I thought I had a pretty good sense of what the movie was about (you're not really that far off), but then I went to IMDb and just by reading thread titles my mind was blown by some of the stuff I missed.

Anyways, it's a great movie, the stop motion animation is ridiculously detailed and amazingly fluid, even an hour into the movie it still caught me off guard how far ahead this is of every other stop motion movie I've ever seen. The writing's also pretty impeccable, despite the movie being very "out there" the dialog felt really natural, more so even than in most movies. Kaufman da gawd indeed.

It was about eating some unfamiliar :ehh:

Then finding out the next morning that its no different than the rest :francis:

Or did it even happen at all :jbhmm:

:lolbron:

Ate that unfamiliar :skip:

But yeah...
I think Lisa had to have existed. Somebody had a theory on imdb that lisa was the japanese doll. But I think that can be explained away, by him probably having messed with the doll in the shower. The ending with her in the car was probably just him imagining shyt tho

Decent flick.. really got detailed with those doll parts :skip:
