Technically, you don't say shyt like this to people you don't know that well, but I feel like she tweeted this solely for the purpose of support of other people on social media. I doubt there was anyone chastising Barkley after that terrible joke, so she needed some support.

But shyt, who knows, she may have been or knows a victim of domestic violence in the past and this struck a nerve.

To be fair, she could've just told Barkley that she didn't appreciate the joke to his face, but that's not going to stop him from making it in public. Public humiliation will though.

EDIT: Apparently she did say it to his face and he acted the way you would assume. "You can't take a joke".

It’s Boomer Humor. It’s a style of comedy that goes back to The Honey Mooners show where he jokingly threatens to hit his wife at the end of each episode. Black and White Americans over the age of 50 use dark humor involving race and gender in a lot of their jokes. Because when they come of age, it was socially acceptable.



The irony here is the young woman making this complaint literally has “Send Me All Of Your Dad Jokes” as part of her Twitter bio.

Now she is trying to criminalize an older Black man for saying an inappropriate Dad joke off the record.

Yeah dawg, it’s not funny nor is that what you would call “dad jokes.”

Chappelle, Murphy, Cosby, Carrey (standup/impersonations not his movies), and I wanna say Pryor but I honestly never saw enough of his shyt so I'll leave the 5th space open out of respect

Being socially unacceptable can be funny as hell IF you are funny while doing it. But literally the stupidest kid in your high school class can be socially unacceptable just to be socially unacceptable, there's no talent in that. Society accepting that short of shyt is what made Andrew Dice Clay and Dane Cook into famous people.
