Not as much as the person themself. I've been listening to Future all 14 years and never had the urge to sip lean or pop percs. Just like I listen to pac n big, but never actually wanted to hit anyone up over dumb street beef.

Listened to DMX, it didn't drive me to rob nikkas and rape...... 10% of the blame, if that, lies on the influencer
I am glad to read that. More people should be like that...but they aint. The impact of programming and propoganda and charismatic leaders is apparent throughout history. Plenty of studies and experiments showing just how easy it is to get people to do all kinda shyt. Humans in general are extremely susceptible to influence. Those who use this to benefit themselves and to harm others or with no regard for others are 100% accountable for their actions.

You know what negates all that bullshyt? Good home training. The problem starts at home

There a millions of people who grew up listening to the same music I did, playing the same video games, watching the same movies and crazy ass shyt on TV. But best believe, we know that shyt doesn't translate to real life. Best believe we were off the streets before it got dark and evil started emerging out from the corners where it lurked. The problem is these parents letting devices, media personalities, and the streets raise their kids. Then they're too scared to correct the heathen fukks and it breeds more fukkery. It ain't just the new gens either, there are whole bloodlines ruined because nobody wanted to do right or change.

I agree for the most part. I dont think anybody should let off the hook. Everybody has their part and responsibility. Those with the ability to influence others have an even greater responsibility. And I dont blame rappers as much as I blame label execs and programming execs.

He’s right and just because you think the rap today is trash doesn’t make it less influential. Hov had nikkas in the mid 2000s wearing big ass button ups and cardigans to the club but yet we give him credit for influence

Future is a Vybz Kartel biter. Might as well say Vybz and all them autotune Jamaican artists influenced 2010s decade.
