Think he means black comedians that are cool for greater cacdom to dikkride...far as selling out shows and being everywhere and all that comes with being the reigning king of black comedy, kev obviously has it at the moment after kat fell back...wouldn't say he's an all time great or anything, but if using muhfukkas like russell branch as points of reference he's definitely funny enough

And it's not that Kevin's that bad, he's just doing better than he should be due to lack of competition at the moment.

Compare him to Louis or Burr and he's weak.

He's doing better than these other comedians because he clearly works A LOT harder than almost everybody and promotes himself relentlessly. Somebody with his work ethic is going to thrive in any era; hell, in any form of life.


Earthquake is as funny as anybody mentioned in this thread, but I can't ever see him becoming a big star. There are plenty of funny mufukkas out there, you just got to look for them because mainstream isn't into pushing multiple Black talents at one time. It's not like Black people stopped being funny after Chapelle went to Africa or something.

There are some very good black comedians out there, they're just not hailed by the masses yet.

Kyle Grooms and Mike Britt are hilarious to me.

I actually prefer black comedians over white comedians, I feel like a lot of white comedians are corny and don't really have a great perspective to create humor from.

Bill Burr kills it though, that dude is hilarious. Louis CK is cool too.

After hearing Patrice's comedy album he should've been next in line after Pryor, Eddie, Rock and Chappelle. fukked up that he went like he did

Chappelle at his prime may be the last great black comedian we see, shyt even Chappelle aint Chappelle anymore

I was blessed enough to see Patrice in person, he did a 90 minute set to a house of about 150 people, he was incredible. He wasn't deterred by the small group, I was literally laughing out loud for the entire thing.

And it wasn't 90 routine minutes, he would go off cracking jokes, fukking with audience members for 5-10 minutes a good amount of times just having fun.

Sad as hell when he passed, like I said I was blessed to see him in person in such a smell crowd. Felt like you were just listening to hit kick bullshyt and you were chilling with em

That shyt was a definite classic and then Katt went into over-saturation.

He had about 15 dvds/standups/etc... in a year after than dropped.
